For us, it has always made perfect sense to train the body as we actually use it & how it is designed to move.
The problem, as we see it, is the gyms have it all wrong. By predominantly using seated machines, repetitive movements & training the body in isolation, this is only increasing tightness in the body, dysfunction & the chances of injury & pain.
We quickly became aware that so many people have stiffness & tightness throughout their bodies. With this comes little niggles, aches & pains which they are just putting up with and chalking up to ‘old age’.
The good news is, it doesn’t have to be that way. We can show you the solution.
This is why we developed our unique training system which empowers people with the knowledge & techniques to easily release tightness from their connective tissue, upregulate their nervous system & strengthen their muscles to get their bodies to move as well as possible. This takes pressure off the joints, greatly reducing & often eliminating pain from problem areas such as knees, lower back, neck & shoulders.
Our mission centres around helping individuals, particularly those aged 50 and above, to achieve greater mobility, strength, and wellness (while also reducing stiffness & pain).
At MHS, we strive to empower clients to move better, feel younger, and enjoy a quality of life that they may not have thought possible.
By addressing each client’s individual needs through our unique & customised training programs as well as a supportive community environment, we aim to foster lasting changes that extend well beyond physical health, encompassing mental resilience and emotional well-being.
Each & every client is genuinely valued & we make sure they feel that way.
If you care about someone, you will always do the right thing.
To get the best, we give the best & always lead by example.
Happiness & confidence comes from within, the decision to improve your life must always be yours to make.
We challenge the paradigm that exercise is boring by working out in fun & interesting ways. If you enjoy something, you keep doing it.
I struggled with obesity from my early teens to late twenties which set me on the path of becoming a personal trainer, dropping 30kg & maintaining a healthy weight now into my early forties.
When I became a PT, I went down the movement & function route, as opposed to aesthetics and body building. I have a sporting background so I wanted to train the body as a whole & integrated unit which is how we use it in everyday life.
This led me to do many courses including Effective Movement Training, Corrective Exercise for Chronic Pain and Applied Health & Human Performance. All of which, plus my 13+ years of experience as a Personal Trainer, have helped me develop MHS & our unique style of Full Body, Functional Movement Training.
The thing I love most about what I do is seeing someone walk away from their session feeling lighter, happier & full of confidence. Irrespective of where someone starts, seeing them improve week by week both physically & mentally is absolutely priceless.
